Colt 1860 Army revolver in serial number range 165xxx. Civilian gun with ivory grips, excellent cylinder scene, approximately 50% case colors and 45-50% blue with the balance thinned to a blue-gray patina. Some pits near muzzle. Overall a very eye catching gun. $7,500.00

Colt 1860 Army revolver made in 1867. This is a very nice civilian made 1860 Army. All matching serial numbers including wedge. Strong cylinder scene and blue remains in protected areas. Grips have been slimmed and now metal is slightly above the wood. The tip of the loading lever has been replaced and modified from an original but was done in period. Colt 1860 Army Deluxe New York engraved revolver serial number 185xxx. Extra coverage engraving on barrel and has engraving on cylinder. Grips are old but replaced. (A set of ivory grips would really cap this gun off!) made about 1870 these late engraved New York guns have some engraving that has motifs found on conversions and single actions that came later. For an almost exact example see page 186 Colt Book of Engraving by Wilson. Gun pictured in book is #187227. Wilson notes that he has not seen another gun like 187277. Colt 1860 Army .44 caliber revolver serial number 125xxx manufactured about 1863. This is a neat gun as it was found in the wall of an old house in Wharton, Texas. (40 miles south of Houston). Gun shows use but has about 30% plus cylinder scene. Has very good grips with faint cartouche. Matching serial numbers. Mechanically excellent. Screws are perfect. Colt 1860 Fluted Army made in 1861. This is an all matching gun and fairly sharp for one of these guns. A smooth dark patina remains even throughout the metal. This gun was shipped to the New York arsenal on Governors Island in May of 1861 in an order of 50 guns. Most likely this gun was ordered by New York in response to Ft. Sumter, which took place in April 1861 and ignited the Civil War. This is a historic, sharp Colt 1860 Fluted Army. $6,950.00

Colt 1860 Fluted Army shipped to P.S. Newton in April of 1861 in a shipment of 50. Of course April of 1861 coincides with the outbreak of the Civil War. P.S. Newton was a gunsmith in Connecticut from 1828 to 1888. Gun has a smooth gray to brown patina and reasonably sharp. All markings are clear and all serial numbers match. Grips have a slot cut in the bottom on both sides probably for some kind of sling. The loading lever catch is a gunsmith replacement. Action and lock up are tight. Nice sharp fluted army! $5,495.00

Colt Richards U.S. Army issue conversion. Rare gun with Ainsworth inspection and double set of numbers. Very good plus cylinder scene. These are the first Colt cartridge revolvers issued to the army after the Civil War. Most if not all were used in the west and most are very well worn. Late Civilian Colt 1860 Army revolver manufactured in 1868. This is all matching, though the wedge is unnumbered. Has a nice smooth brown patina all over the metal with light pin point size pitting on the barrel. All markings are legible and a good amount of the cylinder scene remains. Over 50% varnish on the grips. This is all original with the exception of the loading lever. The only alteration on this gun is the channel for the rammer has been widened for the replacement. Has very nice grips and an even patina. $1,695.00

US Marked 1st model Richards Conversion of an 1860 This is by far the best martial Richard conversion we have seen. Excellent original blue remains throughout the barrel and very good case colors remain. All inspectors marks are present as well. Conversion numbers are all present matching 156 with the exception of the cylinder which is marked 256. Clearly a factory error. This is part of a contract of 800 that was sold to the government for arming the Buffalo soldiers. Many of these guns were sent to Texas. $15,950.00
