Colt 1839 Martially Marked Paterson carbine. Extremely rare!! According to advanced collectors, only 8-9 martially marked Paterson carbines are known to collectors. The cartouche is easily seen on the left hand side of the stock. The metal is in very good condition with a smooth brown patina throughout the barrel and cylinder. The edges are all nice and sharp. The cylinder scene and markings are all easily visible. Very scarce gun!

Colt 1855 Full Stock Sporting rifle. Rare gun from the collection of the early collector Capt. John R. Hegeman Jr. (Friend of Sam Colt and Buffalo Bill. Hegeman’s ranch in Wyoming was next to Buffalo Bill’s.). Hegeman was probably the first collector of Colts guns and he cartouched the stock of each gun with his initials in a circle (see photo). This gun has no Colt patent marks or any of the usual markings. The metal in our opinion is factory refinished probably 100 years ago as it is exactly correct as to polish and blue. The stock is refinished also but not a quality job and the stock has repairs. Hegeman could order anything he wanted from Colt and possibly he ordered this gun with no markings.
