Extremely Rare Bavarian Contract Henry Rifle. This is on of approximately 500 Henry Rifles made for the King of Bavaria. There are several differences between these and a regular Henry Rifle. The most noticeable difference is the non-rotating barrel and the then newly designed loading system. An article by Herbert Houze accompanies this gun detailing more information on these rare rifles. This particular gun in addition to being German proofed is also English proofed and retailer marked. Condition on this gun is very fine with a smooth brown patina throughout the metal. This is a very rare rifle with approximately 10 known to exist among collectors.

Winchester Early Henry rifle. Serial #828. All major parts matching: butt plate, stock, frame and barrel. Screws to the butt plate are original Henry screw, but both are numbered to 1044. Only one of the tang sight screws is numbered and it is matching. Smooth brown, almost plum patina on barrel. Frame has dark untouched mustard color on brass. Wood is overall very good. Has two U.S. coins from the 1840s inlaid on either side of the wrist. This is an attractive early honest Henry!

Winchester Martial Henry rifle indentified to a soldier. This very fine Henry rifle was issued to Williams McWilliams on the 10th Penn Infantry Reserve and later the 3rd Veteran Volunteers. McWilliams enlisted in July of 1861 and finally mustered out in March of 1866. During his service in the Veteran Volunteers, McWilliams was court marshaled for cursing at an officer. Extensive research has been conducted and comes with this gun. The barrel of this gun has a smooth blue brown patina with good blue in protected areas. The brass is excellent and has a light mustard color patina. The stock shows minor handling marks but is overall very good and still has the Henry bump present, though it is somewhat worn. All parts that should be numbered are numbered and matching. This is a very fine Henry with good Civil War history!
