Brooklyn Bridge percussion revolver. Approximately .38 caliber. Barrel marked “Col Sam’l New Model US Patented”. Belgian made around the turn of the century. (Approximately 1900). These are very interesting revolvers and several articles have been written recently on their history. they are a bit larger than Colt 1849 Pocket and the cylinder scene portrays the Brooklyn Bridge with New York city and ships on the river below. Whitney 1st Model Navy revolver. Scarce gun as only 1200 1st models were made. This is a 3rd type. The serial number is 949. These guns were early competitors with Colt and their guns were well thought of. The grips on this gun have the name “H. Nobel”. There were only 2 H. Nobel’s listed as soldiers. One was out of Massachusetts and the other from New York. Nice sharp gun!
