Colt 1851 Navy with Great History. This Colt Navy was carried by Confederate Captain T.J Eubanks of the 48th Regiment of Alabama Volunteers. Thomas James Eubanks was from Marshall County Alabama. Captain Eubanks was engaged at Little Round Top and was in commend of the 48th Alabama Volunteers. Eubanks led him men under heavy musket and cannonfire but were forced to fall back. Out of 275 men, 102 were killed, wounded and lost in action. Captain Eubanks was mentioned by his Colonel for his "Gallantry in leading his men in the hottest of the conflict". There is included a letter from Captain Eubanks to his family friend Mrs. Foster were in Eubanks details some of the action. There is documentation such as photos of Eubanks biographical information as well as battle reports, Muster Rolls. Ninety days after Captain Eubanks participation at Gettysburg he was at Look Out Valley Tennesee, when he was shot and killed. The Colt 1851 Navy is factory engraved and is presented to T.J. Eubanks of the 48th Regiment Alabama volunteers by the Officers of his company for gallantry. July 1-3,1863-(Gettysburg). The gun is very sharp and is matching. Cylinder scene is about 75-80% visible. Action works perfectly. Gun is good plus to very good with very pleasing patina. This gun is all you could ask for in an inscribed pistol. A Confederate Captain, Gallantry at Gettysburg and later killed in action and a factory engraved Colt!
