Colt Single Action Army Artillery Model .45LC (C13429)

Colt Single Action Army Artillery Model .45LC caliber revolver. Made in 1891. This is an artillery model single action with correctly mismatched numbers. This gun is in very-fine condition with 85% of the original blue. Very-good case colors on the frame. The grips have been checkered during the period of use. Whoever checkered the grips tried to preserve the “RAC” cartouche and made provisions to do so. They then went over the cartouche to make it deeper. These guns were originally 7½” long barrel that were issued to the cavalry. They were retired, then brought back into service. When they brought them back, they reworked them. This entailed shortening the barrel and refinished all parts and refitting them. No attempt was made to put these guns back with original serial numbers. Very-fine gun. $6500.00
