Enfield Martini Henry Short Lever Rifle. Receiver is “VR” crown marked (Queen Victoria) Enfield 1888 dated. The stock is cartouched “Fort William Arsenal” which is in Calcutta, India. Barrel is marked below rear sight, “MS” “MFP” for native service (Nepal) and military foot police. The bore is very good, action works perfectly. Gun has approximately 90-95% blue. These rifles were used all over the British Empire and saw service in famous battles such as Rorke’s Drift in the Zulu War.
