Henrry Derringer Percussion Pistol. (AH4974)

Henrry Derringer Percussion Pistol. .44 Caliber 1 7/8” barrel with a lightly oxidized bore. The barrel is a fading pewter brown, nearing pewter patina with strong remnants of the lightning bolt bronzing still present, with a couple spots of very light oxidation as well. There is a scant dovetailed blade German silver front sight with dual inlaid silver bands at the breech showing appropriate markers marking and sunburst P firing proof. The tang shows some nice light engraving which continues onto the lockplate and the hammer. The lockplate and the hammer shows some trace color case-hardening, the balance a mottled silvery and pewter case-hardened patina. The pineapple triggerplate extension, bow of guard, cap splash plate, wedge escutcheons and flourish sideplate all show the typical light tasteful engraving with teardrop shaped gripcap and shield shaped monogram plate showing only very light borderline engraving, the triangle nosecap plate unegraved. The stock rates a very fine to perhaps near excellent showing much original varnish, only showing scattered flaking, with crisp checkering in the grasping area. The lock is crisp and mechanically functional. A very attractive 5 5/8” overall length Derringer pocket pistol.
