Made circa 1800s. 55 caliber with a 40” barrel. Very fine gun with mixed metal work on the barrel. Stock is very good with brass inlays. This Matchlock is a lot more ornate than you normally fine.
Japanese Tanegashima matchlock .54 caliber musket. Has a 41½" octagon barrel. Barrel has a plum brown patina. Wood is very good with some age cracks. Stock has gold inlays of geometric decorations throughout. Lock is marker marked. Action functions perfectly, as designed. A very fine example of an ornate Japanese Tanegashima musket.
Rare Japanese Tanto Pistol. 17½” Overall length. Barrel is 7½” length. Metal has an overall even gray patina. Action functions perfectly. Both the saya and tsuka are made of wood and looks very similar to a shirasaya. Very nicely made with a kozuka handle permanently attached to the side. Beautiful rare Tanto pistol that was only made for a short time.
Rare Japanese Tanto Pistol. Percussion with folding trigger. Approximately .30 caliber. Barrel length 12 ¼” and overall length 16 ¾”. Saya black and brown lacquer mix in excellent condition. Lacquer silver mekugi with butterflies. The kojiri is iron with clouds in gold highlights. Rare tanto pistol made only for a short time span.
Rare Tanto Pistol Pinfire System and Trigger Works Double Action. We have owned only 4 or 5 of these tanto pistols in the last 42 years. We have never seen a double action example and the barrel and frame are floral engraved which we have never seen on a tanto pistol. Caliber is approximately .30 caliber. Barrel length is 7”.
