Colt 1878 Frontier DA

SN: 41925. Circa 1899. .44-40 Winchester with a 5.5" barrel, bore is dark with good rifling and light pitting. Double action revolver with blue finish, the hammer is in the white, nitride blue trigger-cylinder retaining screw and Mother of Pearl grip. Overall in good condition. The revolver has been re-blued. Manufactured in 1893. Barrel is 7.5" and is marked "Colt Frontier Six Shooter". Bore has strong rifling and has a small area of pitting neat muzzle otherwise is bright and shiny. Grips are very good with no chips or cracks. Metal has a thinning blue turning to patina and looks good. Action works perfectly. Very good overall condition.

New York engraved Colt 1878 Sheriff’s model .45. Made in 1882. This gun was shipped to Hartley and Graham in a shipment of five. This gun is a very rare Sheriff’s model with a 4” barrel. The condition is excellent with 95-97% of the original nickel. The engraving and finishing were done at Hartley and Graham. Hartley and Graham had their own team of engravers....

Serial number 5100. Made between 1902 and 1905. 45 LC with a 5 ½” barrel. Very fine Colt 1878 which has been converted to Single Action. Very interesting gunsmithing work. The trigger guard has been replaced. Grips are very finely carved. Action works perfectly. This is a Colt 1902 “Alaskan” model and has all of the military markings.

Serial number 39265. Made in 1898. 44-40 with a 7 ½” barrel. This gun is in very fine condition with 90% of the original blue finish. Grips are excellent with two small lines added on each side of the bottom part of the grips. Action works perfectly. Beautiful example of a Colt 1878 DA Frontier Six Shooter!

Colt 1878 DA .45 LC caliber revolver. Made in 1880. Nice early gun with a 7½” barrel in .45 LC. This gun has 85% of the original nickel finish with the main loss at the muzzle and left hand front side of the frame. Also, slight flaking on the cylinder. Good fire-blue remains on the small parts. Grips are excellent. The gun is in amazing shape, considering its age.
