Colt 1878 Frontier DA

Serial number 41788. Made in 1899. 45 LC with a  5 ½” barrel. Gun is in excellent condition with 99%+ of the original nickel. Blue still remains on the screws. The grips are thick, original mother of pearl. Absolutely beautiful example of a Colt 1878 DA!

Manufactured in 1897. Barrel is 5 1/2". Bore has strong rifling with some pitting. Action works properly. Metal has approximately 75% original nickel plating with some flaking. Grips are very good no chips or cracks. Very good overall condition.

Made in 1900. 44-40 with a 7 ½” barrel. Metal has none of the original finish, only a gray patina. Grips are very good. The frame has been marked spuriously “US”. Action works perfectly bore has strong rifling with pitting. This gun comes with a factory letter where it was shipped to Simmons Hardware.
