Colt Dragoons

Serial number 11130. Made in 1851. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. The metal has a nice plum patina with traces of original blue. Grips are excellent with sharp cartouches. All serial numbers match. Cylinder scene is excellent. The left hand lug of the barrel has the “NEW HAMPSHIRE” marking. Excellent example of a New Hampshire marked Dragoon. 

Serial No. 16810, made in 1858, .44 caliber, 7.5" barrel. Finish is mostly a smooth brown patina with traces of blue lower left side of the frame. Frame is stamped with"COLT/PATENT/U.S." Barrel is New York Address mark with Three Leaf rear sight added. Handsome cylinder scene is visible, serial numbers are matching. Grips have been lightly sanded at some point with chips noted at the toe....

SN: 22832. Modern Production .44 cal with a 7.5 barrel. bore is in very good. 2nd Gen Blackpowder Series revolver. Overall condition is very good. Comes in box.

Serial number 16127. Made in 1856. 44 caliber with 7 ½” barrel. Very sharp gun with an even gray patina. This gun has nice sharp markings with a great cylinder scene. Grips are very good with good cartouches. All number match.

Civil war era holster for a Colt Dragoon. This holster has flaking throughout.

Very fine condition Colt Dragoon Holster by Emerson Gaylord of Chicopee Massachusetts. This is a flap holster that still has the plug and the marking remains sharp.

Serial number 2424. Made in 1848. 44 caliber with a 10” barrel. This gun has been heavily restored. The barrel appears to be a blacksmiths replacement. The cylinder has been turned down on a lather and it appears there has been some welding on the frame. The grips are original but refinished and brown.

Serial number 17022. Made in 1858. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. This is the finest cut for shoulder stock Dragoon and it has the finest matching shoulder stock to go with it. NSN. Made circa 1849 – 1850. Finished in the white. Gun is unused. This gun could have been a shop sample or it could have been experimental prototype. Serial number 2324. Made in 1848. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. This gun is in excellent condition with 95% of the original / period Tinned finish. Grips are very good and have been lightly cleaned. Serial number 1166. Made 1840s. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. This in our opinion is a very well made copy of a Colt Whitnyville Hartford Dragoon out of an Authentic Colt first model Dragoon. Serial number 8994. Made in 1850. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. Metal has been cleaned and has an even gray patina. Gun has restored markings . Action works well.

Serial number 7368. Made in 1849. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. The metal has an even dark brown top gray patina. Cylinder scene is visible and very good. Cylinder is non matching to the rest of the gun, but looks to have been with this gun since the period of use. Grips show heavy use. Action works well.

Serial number 18107. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. The metal has an even light brown patina. Various inspectors marks are throughout the gun. The grips are oil finished which is appropriate for military guns, but no cartouches may be observed. Action works perfectly. All numbers match.

Serial number 17396. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. This gun has a gray patina with pitting on the metal. The Barrel has a mismatched barrel and the butt strapped is unnumbered. Grips have been checkered. This gun comes with a form fitting flap leather holster. This gun comes with a letter from Antique Road Show Appraiser Rafael Eledge where he makes a convincing argument...

Serial 13764. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. Metal has a gray patina and has been cleaned.

Colt 1st Model "Fluck” Dragoon. Made in 1848. Early gun that falls into the beginning of the "Fluck” Dragoon range of 2216-2515. This Fluck theory has been expanded to the "Being the Second Contract" pistols which went from serial 2000-3000. This gun has been cleaned and some of the markings refreshed. Action works fine. Serial Number 16105. Made in 1856. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” barrel. Metal has been cleaned and has a light brown to gray patina. Numbers all match. Grips are very good with a visible cartouche. Action works well. This is a honest example of a Martial Colt 3^rd Model Dragoon!

Serial number 10229. 44 caliber with 7 ½” barrel. The metal is a nice even patina. Gun is all matching. The numbers on the cylinder, barrel and lever have been reapplied. Grips are excellent as refinished. The New Hampshire dragoons was a small contract for approximately 100 guns. Very hard to find Colt 2nd Model New Hampshire marked Dragoon!

Made in 1860. 44 caliber with an 8” barrel. 8” barrel dragoons are very rare with only 800 made at the end of production. Metal has been cleaned, but this is a very sharp gun.
