Barrel length 10”. This was the last of the single shot muzzle loading pistols issued. Approximately 14,000 were made (along with the 1858 Pattern Pistols) and were issued to lancers and troop sergeant majors of cavalry units. Lock has crown at the tail and marked “Tower 1858”. The larger bore guns are hard to find.

SN: None. French percussion pistol marked "Manufacture at Versailles" on the side plate. Has 8.5" barrel with multi-groove rifling. The left side of the barrel flat is marked " Boutet Directuer Artiste". The stock is in good condition with excellent grip checkering. The Checkering is likely over the original checkering. Overall very fine condition. Boutet was the Gunmaker to King Louis XVI.

Mexican-American War era United States Navy pistol with 6" barrel. Made by N.P. Ames in Springfield Massachusetts 1844 and marked on the lock plate. The barrel is marked USN 1845 RCP. The ramrod and bridle are excellent. The metal has a mix of gray and brown patina. The hammer holds on half and full cock. The stock is excellent. Overall a very good example.
