U.S. Martial Antique Handguns

Serial No. 105030, circa 1865-1866, .44 caliber, 8" octagonal barrel. Finish is a smooth polished grey patina, barrel address is faint but visible. Inspector marks are noted on cylinder and trigger guard, serial numbers are matching and grips are un-numbered. Grips do show light handling wear. Action indexes correctly. Consignment

Serial No. 16305G, circa 1862-1865. .36 caliber, 7.5"octagonal barrel. Grey patina finish with scattered oxidation visible. Grips are replacement with gaps and overlapping noted. Bore has light areas of pitting, rifling remains strong. Action index is loose. Consignment

NSN, made circa 1849, .54 caliber, 8.5" round proofed smooth bore barrel. Metal is a dark brown with scattered grey surface pitting visible. Stock shows heavy usage and handling wear with bilateral cracks, cartouches ae faint but visible. Action holds at half and full cock. 

Serial No. 3785, made in 1863, .36 caliber, 7.5" octagonal barrel. Barrel address reads"Metropolitan Arms Co. NEW YORK" faint cylinder scene is visible. Serial numbers are matching, bore has pitting noted in the grooves. Metal is an overall plum patina, brass has been polished. One piece walnut grip have light surface scratches but remain attractive. Serial number 1710, circa 1872-1888, 50CF, 8" round barrel. Gorgeous example with 90% original blue on the barrel. Receiver has beautiful case coloring all around with a tiny area of surface oxidation. Bore and one piece wooden grip are excellent. Grip is matching with handsome cartouche. 

NSN, circa 1855, .58 caliber, 12 round proofed barrel. Barrel is in the white with scattered oxidation visible, mostly noted around the bolster. Barrel is marked with "V/P/Eagle". Tang is dated 1855. Lock plate is marked "U.S./Springfield", primer compartment has spread wing Eagle, rear of hammer is marked "1855" It is noted that a partial Maynard tape primer is still inside. Stock shows...

NSN, made in 1839 by A. Waters, .54 caliber, 8.5" round proofed smoothbore barrel. Barrel and other iron parts are a light grey patina with pin-prick surface oxidation visible. Stock is very good with light handling wear noted, two handsome cartouches are visible left side. Action holds at half and full cock. 

Serial number 13571. Made circa 1860s. 36 caliber with a 7 1/8” barrel. Very fine example with 75% of the original blue. Grips have been refinished. Action works well.

NSN. Made circa  late 1850s. 58 caliber with 11 ½”barrel. Metal has been cleaned and wood has been nicely refinished. Action works well. Very attractive gun!

NSN, .54 caliber with a 9" round proofed smoothbore barrel circa 1817 flintlock pistol. Metal is a dark brown patina with minor surface oxidation present. Lock is of the early style, wood is very good with handsome cartouches noted. Action functions correctly and is in original flintlock configuration. Hickory ramrod is original. 

NSN, .54 caliber with a 10" round proofed barrel. Overall good condition, metal is a light grey patina with pin-prick surface oxidation visible. Wood shows scratches, dings and marring with visible cartouche, two cracks are visible at the side plate screws with an old repair noted. Action functions correctly lock plate is dated 1822 

US Model 1836 by Waters. Made in 1839. .54 Caliber converted to percussion from flintlock in a Belgian style. Metal has a light gray patina with some pitting. Wood is good that has been refinished. There is a crack from the side plate.

U.S. Model 1836 Flintlock Converted to Percussion. Made by A.H. Waters. This gun is dated 1844. Metal has a light brown patina with spots of pitting. The conversion is done in the Belgian style. Action works fine. Many of these guns were readily converted for the Civil War. The Belgian style was the easiest to complete, but also the crudest.

NSN, .54 caliber, 10" round smooth bore barrel. Overall good condition, metal is light pewter patina with mottled surface oxidation visible throghout. Lock is dated 1821, marks are sharp and crisp. Wood shows minoe usage and handling marks with cartouche noted. Action functions correctly 

NSN, .54 caliber, 8.5" round barrel with captured ram-rod, overall good condition metal is a dull grey patina with pin-prick surface oxidation present. Brass has an aged patina finish. Wood is good with a light cartouche visible. Action functions correctly

Made in 1849. 54 caliber with a 8 ½” barrel. The metal has been cleaned and has a gray patina. Wood is good with a couple of small cracks. Cartouches are still visible.

Serial number 4128. Made circa 1860s. 44 caliber with a 7 ½” Barrel. This gun has excellent original blue on the barrel. US inspectors marks are present on the barrel, frame and cylinder and also cartouches are on the grips. Action works perfectly. this is an exceptional example of a scarce Civil war era pistol!

Made in 1850. 534 caliber with a 8 ½” barrel. Metal has been cleaned and has light pitting. All markings are sharp and clear. Wood is very good with visible cartouches.

Made in the 1860s. Fairly scarce gun with roughly only 1000 off these guns made. This is a reasonably sharp gun with an even dark brown patina. Action works well.

.54 caliber Model 1842 percussion Navy pistol by Ames with a 6" barrel in overall good condition. Also known as Navy Box lock. Metal is a light grey patina with pin-prick oxidation noted on the surface. Lock plate and barrel are dated 1844 with crisp marks visible. Wood is good with the name "B FAUTH" stamped on the left side. Excellent example of Box Lock!
