This is a very nice Danish Model 1772 heavy dragoon flintlock holster pistol. The overall length is approx. 20.5". The 13" round 70 caliber barrel has a very good smooth bore with very light erosion. It has a large brass blade front sight. The barrel is bright with light staining. It is marked in large script at the breech with what appears to be SCN 21 over a 14 with a small R inspection...
NSN, made in 1817 by the Maubeuge Arsenal, .62 caliber, 5" round smooth bore barrel. Bore has light surface oxidation visible, metal is a brown patina. Lock plate is marked "Manuf. Imp/Maubeuge". Pistol has been converted from flintlock to percussion. Wood is very good with 1817 dated cartouche visible. Action is tight and holds at half and full cock.
