Rare Springfield model 1871 Ward- Burton bolt action rifle chambered in .50-70 with a 32.5" barrel. Action functions correctly, metal has been polished into original bright finish. Wood shows some usage and handling wear present. Bore is with some frosting noted in the grooves. Stock has two cartouches visible. Only 1011 of these rifles were ever manufactured.  

U.S. Springfield model 1879 trapdoor chambered in .45-70. Serial number is 218572. Barrel is 32 5/8". Metal has a scattered light grey patina with surface oxidation. Bore is good with frosting visible in the grooves. Stock shows usage and handling wear with faint cartouches visible. The initials "WD" are carved into the wood on the right side. Action mechanically functions correctly.
