Barrel and receiver are a brown/grey patina with traces of original blue noted. Stock shows expected nicks,dings and scratches. Handsome cartouches are visible on the right side buttsock. Action functions correctly.

Stock has been lightly sanded at some point. Left side of receiver is marked with "Crown/M-1867". Cleaning rod is missing.

Right side is marked "J.S. VANDEMERWE". Records show Van Der Merwe was part of the Kroonstad Commando and was captured on February 7th 1902 in Paardekraal. Van Der Merwe would pass away at the age of 13...
