Frame, locks and cocks and buttplate are beautiful tight scroll engraved. Length of pull is 14 ½”. Stock is solid with no cracks or chips. C.C. Brand Early Model Whaling Gun. 7/8” bore. 20” barrel and 36” overall length. Early model with the wooden butt stock. Norm Flayderman suspected these early guns were made by Allen and Thurber. The C.C. Brand whaling guns were out of Norwich, Connecticut as was Allen and Thurber. These were made in the 1850’s. Very nice early piece!
