U.S. Model 1840 Wristbreaker with imported 35 1/2" blade marked SOLINGEN on the ricasso. Fuller is 26" long, blade is a dark patina with scattered oxidations noted. flaking is visible in the wire wrapped leather, Brass hilt and guard are dark. Scabbard is intact and is also a dark patina.

Ricasso is proofed stamp with "Hortsmann" inscribed. Guard and Pommel are loose. Scabbard comes with hanging chains, overall very good condition.

Leather scabbard is in overall fair condition, splitting is noticeable along some the edges. Leather frog has become unattached to scabbard.
