Buttstock is fine. The action functions correctly. The green felt lined leather case label reads “William Kavanaugh & Son/ Gun & Rifle/ Manufactures/ 12 Dame St./ Dublin”. Kavanaugh operated in Dublin as early as 1830. The fire single shot rifle is marked “W. Kavanaugh & Son Dublin” in a oval on the left side of the receiver and “W. Kavanaugh & Son/ 12 Dame St. Dublin” on the right and left barrel flats. The 3-leaft rear sight is graduated at 50, 100, and 150 yards. This is a very nice single shot Irish hunting rifle.
