Hollis and Son Smooth Bore Dangerous Game .75 caliber musket. Made by Hollis and Sons, London and Birminghan. Retailed by Phillipson and Co., Hopetown, South Africa. Marked “Phillipson & Co. / Hopetown” on lock and top of barrel. 36” Round barrel with excellent bore. Case hardened lock and hammer with strong colors. Approximately 98% blue barrel. Stock with Hollis makers mark is near excellent. Brass furniture with original patina. Two-leaf rear sight graduated 100 and 200. A fine piece ready for your next safari! Trigger guard, butt plate, lockplate, and hammer are finely engraved. This is one of the most unusual early dangerous game guns that we have handled and is in near excellent condition! Would be a centerpiece for any collection of big game rifles!
