Plant’s Mfg. Co. Front Loading “Army” Revolver. .42 Caliber Cupfire caliber. This is a third model manufactured in the 1860’s. Barrel 6”, six-shot. Also marked “Merwin & Bray” on left side of barrel. They were agents of Plant. Bore is good, action works perfectly. Brass frame with mustard color patina. Barrel exterior has light pitting. Cylinder has an area of deeper pitting. Grips are rosewood. Some soldiers purchased these as a sidearm during the Civil War.
