Colt 1911 A1 .45 ACP caliber pistol. Interesting Lend Lease Colt 1911A1 Military made in 1944. First gun like this we have seen. This gun has a pre-war frame, post-war slide, and is British proofed. It is well documented that he U.S. government ordered replacement slides for 1911’s post war, but this is the first one we have seen or heard of being British proofed. Gun has a dull grayish green parkerized finish with dark streaks. The frame, slide, and barrel all have British proof makes. The slide is post 1950. Very unique gun.
