British Georgian Period Lions Head Saber with blue and gilt blade and checkered ivory handle. The guard is in the format of a serpent coiled over the langet (also a lions head) and forming the guard up to the lions mouth. The blade displays the seal of England above the makers name Cooper & Craven. The reverse side shows a camel above a woman holding a flaming torch. The scabbard is in very good condition and the mount shows a considerable amount of gold wash. This is a scarce Georgian sword of the Revolutionary War period.
