Prussian Model 1809/39 Potsdam Musket with Bayonet (AL5056)

Prussian Model 1809/39 Potsdam musket with bayonet. Overall length is 56” with a 41” .75 caliber barrel. The smoothbore is fair. The barrel has a dark patina with areas of light to moderate pitting, especially in the nipple area. The lock is very good with a crown/ Potsdam/ GL. Brass furniture is very good. The tang of the butt plate is dated “1835”. The swivels and ramrod are present. The action functions correctly. The bayonet is fine with a mixture of bright finish and age stain. It fits perfectly. Many of these Potsdam muskets were used in the Civil War. They are getting hard to find, especially with a bayonet.
