Interesting Flintlock blunderbuss with Harpers Ferry lock. The overall length is approximately 38”. The round 22¼” barrel flares to a 2” muzzle. The barrel is approximately 1½” in diameter at the breech. The iron barrel has a smooth black finish. It is unmarked. The lock is Harpers Ferry dated 1817. It is a replacement. The brass English style trigger guard and butt plate are very good with no cracks or chips. There is a ⅜” “N” on the left side of the butt. The forward lock screw has been moved to the rear to fit the Harpers Ferry lock. The touch hole is huge. This gun is not safe to shoot. The forward swivel is missing. The hammer does not hold cock. The stock, trigger guard and butt plate are pin-fastened. This Blunderbuss would look great over your fireplace. It is unsafe to shoot. But you get an interesting gun at a very reasonable price.
