Belgian large bore double barrel pistol. Caliber .65. Barrels are 81/2” to the front of the

breech plug. barrels are smoothbore and are of fine Damascus pattern . Overall length is 15 ½”.

Barrels are “ELG” proofed and marked “16.6. The action works perfectly with half cock and

Barrels are “ELG” proofed and marked “16.6. The action works perfectly with half cock and

full cock. Percussion nipples are perfect. The locks ,breech plug and tang have floral and geometric designs. The buttcap has a door in the shape of a sea shell revealing space for percussion caps or lead

balls. The brass furniture is engraved “En Suite” with the other engraved parts. The grip is fluted

and the flutes match the sculpted grip cap. Overall the pistol is in fine condition with no abuse, just some light handling marks. The ramrod is a replacement. Impressive big bore double barrel very

possibly made for use in India for use in a Howdah. ( large basket for hunters mounted on an elephant Howdah pistols were used to repel tiger attacks as these big bore pistols were easily accessible as the tigers were known to attack the elephant and the hunting party in the Howdah).
