U.S. Model 1884 Trapdoor Carbine (AL5351)

This Model 1884 Springfield trapdoor carbine is equipped with the Buffington M0d3l 1884 carbine rear sight. The 22" round 45 Government center fire (45-70) caliber barrel has an excellent, bright bore with very good rifling. It has a carbine front sight cover. The barrel is a smooth brown with areas of spotting. The receiver and breechblock have approx. 60% blue. The buttplate, triggerguard, and bands are a mixture of blue and brown. The sling bar and ring are present. The stock is good with issue dents and dings, no cracks or chips, a visible firing proof, and no visible cartouche. The action functions correctly. This circa 1888 Model 1884 carbine is a good representative late Indian Wars carbine.
