Mauser Model 1896 “Broomhandle”. This is a Wartime Commercial variation made during WW1. Here is the good news: The action and safety work perfectly. Incredibly the bore is excellent and we test fired it and it worked fine. This is a 7.63mm Mauser pistol also referred to as .30 Mauser. Now the bad news: This iconic pistol has been heavily polished and completely reblued. More good news: The rear sight and sight elevator work fine. The grips are good to very good and actually match by serial number to the pistol. Another plus, The correct split ring lanyard ring is on the stud at the bottom of the grip. (always missing or have a repro ring. So to recap we have a full function semi automatic Broomhandle Mauser that has an over zealous refinish. But the price is reasonable. If you like modern art ,the blue job may be a plus.
