Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 Varmint Rifle (W11151)
This 243 Winchester caliber Model 70 Varmint rifle was manufactured in 1956, the first year of production for the varmint rifle. The 26" round heavy barrel has an excellent bore with strong, bright rifling. It is correctly equipped with scope bases that do not appear to ever had a scope mounted on them. The action an barrel retain 99%+ of the original matt blue finish. The trigger guard and floor plate have all their bright blue. The hand stop plate has wear at the forwardmost hole where a hand stop was installed. The varmint stock is excellent with minor wear behind the trigger guard, no chips or cracks, and original finish throughout. It has the desirable steel butt plate. The action functions correctly. You won't find a better Model 70 Varmint than this one, especially for a first year gun.
