This is a rare large frame Webley Fosbery Model 1903 455 Webley caliber automatic revolver, serial number 3235. Production ran from 1904 to 1912. The overall length is approx. 12". The approx. 7.5" octagon barrel has an excellent bore with 7-groove rifling. There is a large brass blade front sight and notch rear sight. The cylinder length is approx. 1.25". The gun retains approx. 90% dull blue finish with the expected edge wear. The top rib of the barrel is marked P. WEBLEY & SON. LONDON & BIRMINGHAM. The left side of the top strap is stamped WEBLEY FOSBERY. The matching serial number is correctly found on the frame, cylinder and barrel assembly. The left frame has the Webley winged bullet trade mark with W&S below and 455 CORDITE to the right. Each chamber has the expected British proof mark. The finely checkered grips are fine with light bruising and no cracks or chips. The lanyard loop and ring are present. The action, including the safety, works perfectly. The very unusual Webley Fosbery automatic revolver is one of the most desirable automatic pistols. It is missing from most collections.
