Fine Adams 450 Caliber Cartridge Revolver (AH6478)
This large frame commercial 450 caliber Adams revolver is in fine to excellent condition. The overall length is approx. 11.5". The 6" octagon barrel has an excellent rifled bore. The front sight is a tall, narrow blade and the rear is a notch just forward of the hammer. The top of the barrel is marked ADAM'S PATENT SMALL ARMS Co,391,STRAND, LONDON. Approx. 90% of the original bright blue remains with the frame and butt cap turning brown and edge wear. From front to rear, the right side of the frame carries the serial number, No 5348, (also on the cylinder), ADAM'S PATENT in an oval and the Adams trade mark symbol. Each chamber has the expected proof mark. The checkered grips are fine with one one dent at the rear and a bruise above. The lanyard ring is present. The revolver operates correctly in single and double action. Many of these revolvers were bought by British officers. This revolver is fit for any English or early cartridge revolver collection.
