US Model 1850 Foot Officers w/ Rare Retractable Scabbard (SW1403)

Made by Collins and company and retailed by Schuyler Hartley & Graham. 31” blade with a dark gray patina. The blade has patriotic themed acid etching that remains sharp and clear. Hilt is cast brass with a brass wire wrapped eel skin grip that shows wear. The scabbard is an extremely scarce telescoping retractable scabbards. The scabbard is marked near the throat “Jay & Cie/ Brevette A Paris” The scabbard is in very good condition with a smooth dark brown patina.
