Winchester 1866 Rifle (AW239)
Made in 1884. 44 caliber with a 24” barrel. This is a very nice sharp gun that has been restored. The barrel is a replacement off of a Winchester 1873 rifle and it is marked 44-40. The barrel has most of the original finish remaining. The frame is excellent. It is a carbine frame that has bee converted to a rifle. Next to the saddle ring is a circle made of hash marks that looks very similar to the republic of Mexico marking with the “RM” but there is no “RM” The wood is off or a Winchester 1873. Beautiful gun as restored.
