Colt 1862 Police Serial Number 5(AC273)

Serial number 5! Made in 1862. 36 caliber with a 6 ½” barrel. Very fine, nice sharp gun. There is no original blue or case colors, only traces of silver on the trigger guard. The metal is sharp and has an even gray patina throughout the metal. Grips are very fine. This is one of the very earliest guns in the Colt 1862 Police series. This gun was formerly in the Robert Q Sutherland collection and is featured on page 171 in the 2nd edition of The Book of Colt Firearms by R. L. Wilson and R. Q. Sutherland.
