Colt New Service .455 Eley (C17506)

Pre-war New service model revolver with 5.5" barrel manufactured in 1914. Bore is perfect, bright with strong rifling. The action works very smoothly and the cylinder rotates and locks up on time. Cylinder latch is the flat type with checkered Knurling. Revolver has London proofs on the barrel and each flute of the cylinder. the cylinder has 98% of the original factory blue. the colt medallion grips have excellent checkering. during the onset of WWI many European countries were not well armed and many were desperate for rifles and pistols. The British proof marks and the year of production make this potentially one of the many weapons' sent to the British military or citizens. This is an excellent WWI revolver!
