Austrian Model 1898 Rast & Gasser Revolver (PR55107)

The 8mm Model 1898 Austrian Rast & Gasser service revolver is based on the Schmidt-Galand double action solid frame 8-round revolver. It was in service from 1898 to 1938. The 4.5" round barrel has a fine bore with strong rifling. The gun retains approx. 95% of its dull blue military finish. The bright hammer and trigger have approx. 95% finish. The left side of the forward frame is marked PATENT over RAST & GASSER over WIEN. The chekered wood grips are fine with no cracks or chips and the lanyard loop is present. The action functions correctly. This very nice example of the Austrian Model 1898 Rast & Gasser service revolver is ready for an Austrian or European military pistol collection.
