William Reynolds Kentucky Sporting Rifle (AL7195)

Made circa 1860s – 1870s. 38 caliber with a 40 ½” barrel. Barrel has a smooth even brown patina. The barrel is marked “Wm Reynolds” in a cursive script. William Reynolds was a gunsmith in Lawrence, Ks. The patchbox also has the Reynolds markings while the lock is a Conestoga Rifle Works. This is a very well made gun with a nicely engraved patchbox. The butt stocks is incised carved. The wrist has been repaired. Very colorful Kansas made Percussion Kentucky Rifle!
