Steyr Model 1909 Austrian Military 7.65mm Auto Pistol (PR57121)
The Steyr Model 1909 pocket auto pistol was manufactured from 1909 to 1914 and 1921 to 1939. It features the Pieper patent tip up barrel. This pistol is chambered in the desirable 7.65mm caliber. The 3 5/8" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The left side of he barrel is marked PAT. No9379-C5u. No25025-06. The left bottom rear at the chamber has the Austrian military eagle acceptance with 22 (1922) above. The left side of the frame above the trigger has the serial number, 50514P. The right side of the barrel is marked PAT. followed by a square cross followed by No 40335. The right bottom at the chamber has the Austrian NPv commercial proof. The gun has approx. 95% blue with high spot and grip strap wear. As is the case with most of these pistols, the spring in the barrel opening mechanixm is missing. It unlatches and opens just fine. The checkered hard rubber grips with the round STEYR logo in the center of each are fine with light wear. The pistol has a lanyard loop and the original magazine is present. The action functions correctly. This interesting WWI and later Austrian pistol is ready for your collection.
