1915 U.S. Colt 1911 .45 ACP With Holster (C17691)

This U.S. Colt Model 1911 45ACP service pistol was one of 5,000 guns delivered as a part of the May 10, 1915, U.S. Government contract. It is noteworthy that these were the LAST Model 1911s to be delivered with the lanyard loop magazine (the last gun was s/n 125,566 with this gun being s/n 125,422). All of this gun's parts appear to be original. The barrel has a very good bore with bright, strong rifling with frosting toward the chamber. The gun has a smooth mottled blue-brown finish overall. It has all the correct military and Colt markings. The checkered walnut grips are very good with the wear expected of a gun of this age and overall condition. It is equipped with the correct lanyard loop magazine. The action functions correctly. The brown holster, made by W,H, McM. CO. and inspected by WTG on the back and JD on the flap, is very good.
