Egyptian 7.62X39mm Rasheed Carbine (R29990)

This scarce Egyptian Rasheed 7.61X39mm caliber carbine is sometimes called the "mini-Ljungman AG-42". The Rasheed, along with the more common Egyptian Hakim rifle, is a descendant of the Swedish AG-42 semi-auto rifle desighed by Erik Eklund for the C.J. Ljungman Pump Company of Malmo, Sweden. The 20" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The gun has approx. 95% dark blue finish with most loss on the forecap and buttplate. The left side of the receiver is marked RASHEED 7.62 MADE IN U.A.R. The bottom of the barrel has light importer markings. All other markings are in Arabic. The stock and handguard are fine with light issue wear. The bayonet and muzzle cap are absent (The price has been adjused accordingly.). The sling swivels are present. The action functions correctly. Only about 8,000 Rasheed carbines were manufactured in Egypt and only 2,000 were imported to te U.S. Don't miss this scarce carbine which is missing from most collections.
