This excellent Ithaca U.S. Model 0f 1911 A1 45ACP pistol was delivered as part of the 3rd Ithaca contract on May 10, 1944, to Benicia Ordnance Depot, Benica, CA. It is correct throughout with the slide being marked on the left ITHACA GUN CO., INC. over ITHACA N.Y. The right side of the frame is marked UNITED STATES PROPERTY over No 1451602 with M1911 A1 U..S. ARMY forward. The left side of the frame is correctly inspected FJA and the left side of the trigger guard has the Ithaca two headed arrow inspection stamp. The top of the slide has the expected P. The mainspring housing, hammer, and slide stop are correctly serrated. The expected High Standard barrel has a fine bore with frosting in the grooves. The brown plastic grips are excellent. The parkerized finish rates at 98% plus. The L marked magazine was made by the M.S. Little Manufacturing Co. of Hartford, CT. The action functions correctly. This gun is tight as new. It's a great example of the hard to find correct Ithaca M1911 A1. It's ready for your WWII collection.
