Photograph of the Halderman Brothers circa 1900. The brothers were both hanged on November 16th 1900 after killing Constable Ainsworth of Pearce and mortally wounding cowboy Ted Moore who was deputized by Ainsworth. The Halderman brothers were accused of cattle rustling, when Ainsworth and Moore confronted the them, the brothers came out of the house guns blazing. The brothers were caught at the New Mexico border and taken to the Tombstone jail. This item / These items came from John Flood who was Wyatt and Sadie Earp’s personal Secretary and closest confidant. Mr. Flood even wrote a biography on Wyatt Earp that was never published. He was given and inherited numerous items from the Earp’s. Mr. Flood in turn passed the Earp collection on to John Gilchriese. Mr. Gilchriese owned and operated The Wyatt Earp Museum in Tombstone, AZ, where all of these items were displayed. These items were sold directly by Mr. Gilchriese to David Roberts along with Mr. Gilchriese’s notes on each item. Each item comes with a certificate of authenticity from Collectors Firearms.
