Argentine Model 1891 Navy Honor Guard Rifle (AL7119)
This 7.65X53mm caliber Argentine Model 1891 rifle was manufactured in 1894 by Loewe of Berlin, Germany. The 29.1" barrel has a good bore with darkness in the grooves. It should clean better. Unusually, the Argentine crest is intact on the chamber. The cleaning rod, front and rear band, magazine, trigger guard, bolt release bandspring, rear swivel, and buttplate are nickel plated with approx. 50% remaining (less on buttplate). These rifles were made up for Argentine Navy Honor Guard troops and were in use as late as 2009. The barrel and receiver have approx. 95% blue. The stock is very good with the scattered dents and dings expected of a drill rifle. With the exception of the bolt, all numbers are matching. The acction functions correctly. This may be your only chance to add an honest Argentine Navy Honor Guard rifle to your collection. Don't miss this unusual gun!
