Sharps New Model 1863 Presentation Rifle .52 caliber (AL8134)

Serial No. C,28883, made in 1863, .52 caliber, 30" round rifled barrel. Sharps rifle was presented to Richard Barnett who served with the 2nd Rhode Island Volunteers and would be wounded at Gettysburg. Barrel has approximately 90% original blue with areas of freckling noted. Receiver retains original case coloring with sharp stampings. Stock shows moderate wear and handling usage with cartouches visible. Bore is excellent with beautiful rifling visible. Left side of stock has a pentagon silver inlay engraved with "Presented to /Richard Barnett/by The/U.S.G/For Former Services
