Saxon Electorate Guard Puffer Wheellock Pistol (AH8193)

NSN. Made in 1605.  18 bore caliber with a 12” barrel. Beautiful gun with approximately 50% of the original blue finish. Barrel is very sharp  with nice markings and engraving. Lock has very good blue as well. Wood stock has been ebonized and stippled to simulate a staghorn texture. Polished staghorn inlays adorn the stock featuring engraved and scrimshawed scrollwork and foliage.  This gun was from the rein of Christian I who was the elector of saxony from 1591 to 1611. Beautiful elector guard Puffer pistol in very fine condition!
