Kokura Type 38 Rifle 6.5 Jap (R40846)
SN: 002017545. Made circa 1938-1941. 6.5 Jap with a 31.4" barrel. Bore is dull with strong rifling. Type 38 made in the Kokura arsenal indicated by the 4 cannon ball marking on the left side of the receiver. Barrel and receiver are in very good condition with approximately 70% of factory blue remaining and a grey/ brown patina being present on parts of the barrel and dustcover. Stock is in good condition with handling wear present, the stock is not matching. The chrysanthemum is present but has been stamped over with the Kokura arsenal mark which is indicative that this rifle was later given to schools as a training rifle, note that rifles with a double zero serial number are not safe to shoot. Overall this is a good condition example of the Type 38.
