Smith & Wesson 1st Model 1st Issue 2nd Type. Very rare gun! This is a three-digit serial number, 588. All numbers are matching. This gun has 90% of an old nickel finish. Markings are clear and legible. Action works properly. This gun comes in a newer case, but it looks good. These early guns that are 1st models 1st issues and 2nd Type have the “bayonet” barrel latch. Very hard to find!
