Smith & Wesson Pre 29 .44 Magnum caliber revolver. Pre 29 with Elmer Keith association. This is a 4 screw model. The gun shows some use and holster wear, but is all correct including the ìcoke bottleî grips. Interestingly underneath the grips is a nine digit number with the initials EK stamped on the left hand side. The nine digit number is the legendary Elmer Keithís social security number. We have conducted som research and found out it was not uncommon for him to stamp his initials on hs guns. No one has heard of Keith stamping his social security number. Very interesting piece with possible former ownership to Elmer Keith!
