Colt Government .45 ACP caliber pistol. Rare factory engraved Colt 1911 belonging to General John Considine. Gun was made in 1930 and letters as seen. 80% factory original blue remains on the metal and all engraving is nice and sharp. The grips are carved steer head and appear to be factory as gun letters with ivory grips. On right hand side on edge of slide is an area of pitting. Bore has strong rifling with pitting in the grooves. Gun comes with a Mexican style piteado holster and numerous medals that belonged to General Considine. Considine was a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army and a General in the Guatemalan military. General Considine was “loaned” to the Guatemalan government to train their troops. Also included with this set are numerous pictures of Considine from when he was with the Guatemalan forces. There is also a picture of General Considine wearing the holster and his gun. Historical and attractive gun and rig!
